Please read these terms carefully before using Workbay. They are written plainly — no legalese where we can avoid it.

1. Acceptance

By creating a Workbay account or using any part of the service, you agree to these Terms. If you are using Workbay on behalf of a business, you represent that you have the authority to bind that business to these Terms.

2. The service

Workbay is a project and issue management platform for freelance developers and small agencies. We provide a developer dashboard and a scoped client portal. Features and pricing tiers may change over time — we will give reasonable notice of material changes.

3. Your account

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. Do not share your password. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access. Workbay cannot be held liable for losses caused by unauthorized use of your account.

4. Acceptable use

You may not use Workbay to violate any law, infringe intellectual property rights, harass or harm others, send spam, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to any system. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate this policy.

5. Your data

You own all data you upload or create in Workbay — client records, projects, issues, comments, and attachments. We do not claim any ownership over your content. You grant us only the limited right to store and process it in order to provide the service.

6. Data protection

We will not sell, rent, or share your data or your clients' data with third parties for marketing or commercial purposes. Your data will not be lost, pirated, or misused. In the event of a breach, affected users will be notified within 72 hours. See our Privacy & Security page for full details.

7. Free tier & paid plans

Workbay offers a free tier with no credit card required. Premium plans with additional limits and features will be introduced in future. We will give existing users at least 30 days notice before any pricing change affects their account.

8. Uptime & availability

We strive for high availability but do not guarantee a specific uptime SLA on the free tier. Planned maintenance will be communicated in advance. Premium plans will include uptime commitments outlined in the respective plan details.

9. Termination

You may cancel your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms. Upon termination, your data will be deleted within 30 days. You may request a data export before deletion.

10. Limitation of liability

Workbay is provided 'as is'. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Our total liability in any dispute is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the service after that date constitutes acceptance.
